From St. Anne's church bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 7, to New Year's Eve, Yerington's 2026 holiday calendar has about nine events. Almost all of them take place in five rooms: the Catholic Center, City Hall's Jim Sanford Community Center, the Jeanne Dini Theatre on North California Street, the Boys & Girls Club gym on North Main and the Chamber of Commerce office a short way down the same street. The Chamber, a theater nonprofit, a youth foundation and a church run nearly every one. Two of them have limited seating, so the time to act on them is November, not December.
Here's the season by building, since that's how it's actually laid out.

Saturday Opens It at the Catholic Center
St. Anne's Christmas Bazaar is the first holiday event on the November calendar. It's on the Yerington Chamber of Commerce calendar for Saturday, Nov. 7, and the Chamber's event feed puts it at the Catholic Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Daylight saving time ends the Sunday before, Nov. 1, so the 9 a.m. start is on standard time.
The bazaar's flyers are posted in both English and Spanish on the Pizen Switch Times events calendar. That calendar is the most complete running list of Mason Valley happenings, and it's worth bookmarking for the rest of the season.
There's a three-week gap after the bazaar. Then the calendar moves to City Hall.
City Hall Hosts the Shopping Day and the Event That Sells Out
The Chamber's listing for Small Business Saturday Shop Local on Nov. 28 runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and lists Yerington City Hall at 14 E. Goldfield Ave. as its base. On its Small Town Christmas page, the Chamber says its holiday celebration starts with Small Business Saturday and that the festivities kick off Dec. 3.
Dec. 3 is also the date of Canvas & Cocoa, the event that needs the earliest planning of anything on the list. It's an evening of painting and hot cocoa at the Yerington City Hall–Jim Sanford Community Center, starting at 6 p.m. The announcement says plainly that the event "sells out quickly" and that once spots are gone, they're gone. Registration goes through the Chamber's Canvas & Cocoa event page, and the event is pitched as a date night, a girls' night out or a family outing.
In past years, Small Town Christmas has also included a tree lighting and a Parade of Lights on Main Street, according to Pizen Switch Times' 2022 coverage. Check the Chamber's calendar for this year's parade and tree-lighting times. The Pizen calendar already has a 2026 Small Town Christmas flyer posted under December.
Two nights after Canvas & Cocoa, the second limited-seating event of the season goes up a few blocks over.
The Jeanne Dini Gets the Season's Two Performances
The Jeanne Dini Theatre at 120 N. California St. hosts both of the season's staged performances.
Through a Child's Eyes Foundation presents its annual production of The Nutcracker on Dec. 5 and 6. Tickets are sold by phone at (775) 344-8300, seating is assigned, and the foundation says seating is limited. The production also includes a Royal Raffle and a dessert gift box. The foundation's own description is that the show is a chance "to showcase the great talent we have here in our small community." Assigned seats in a small house go first to whoever calls first, which is why a December show belongs on a November to-do list.
The building fills again on Friday, Dec. 18, for Songs of the Season. The Chamber's feed lists it at the Jeanne Dini Cultural Center at 7 p.m. If dinner beforehand appeals, Ivon's Stage Stop is new to town's dinner options this season. It opened for dine-in on Feb. 27, 2026, with an American and Italian menu, Pizen Switch Times reported.
North Main Street Carries the Rest of the Shopping
City Hall hosts the season's kickoff and the Dini hosts the shows. The holiday shopping, though, mostly happens at two addresses on North Main.
The bigger one is the Winter Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 12. Yerington Theater for the Arts and the Yerington Chamber of Commerce are holding it in the Boys & Girls Club of Mason Valley gym at 124 N. Main St. It opens at 10 a.m., and the YTA events page promises more than 60 vendors. The vendor categories include art, crafts, holiday goods, clothing, jewelry and food. The posted closing time varies: YTA's web page says 2 p.m., and the vendor application says 3 p.m. Arrive before 2 p.m. to be safe.
For anyone in Mason Valley who makes things to sell, booth fees are low. The 2026 vendor application lists $35 for a large booth, $20 for a small booth and $7 for optional electricity. That's cheap enough for a first-time seller to try one Saturday.
Five days later, the shopping moves to the Chamber's office at 102 N. Main St. for the Merry Little Christmas Market, Thursday, Dec. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. It's an evening market on a weeknight, so it fits after work, which makes it the closest thing on the calendar to a last-minute gift run in town.
What to Do in November for December
All of this comes from a few local organizations, so most of the season works on a show-up basis. Three items need something from you before the dates arrive:
- Call (775) 344-8300 for Nutcracker seats. Through a Child's Eyes Foundation sells assigned seats by phone for Dec. 5 and 6, and seating is limited.
- Register for Canvas & Cocoa. It's Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Jim Sanford Community Center, and organizers say it sells out quickly.
- Decide on New Year's Eve. Yerington Theater for the Arts hosts NYE at the 6D Speakeasy on Dec. 31, with food, drinks and free champagne toasts at 9 p.m. and midnight. The cover is $15 for non-members.
Everything else, from the Nov. 7 bazaar at the Catholic Center to the Dec. 18 performance at the Dini, needs nothing more than a spot on the fridge calendar. The craft-market crowd got a head start back on Oct. 24 at the 3rd Annual Huntley Farm Craft Market, which City Manager Jerry Bryant described in his Oct. 23 community update as an event that "continues to grow and grow."
Faught Group works across Mason Valley and keeps up with the town's calendar year-round, from St. Anne's bazaar to the Dini's December shows. If this holiday season has you thinking about what's next for your home in Yerington, Schedule a Meeting and we'll talk it through over coffee on Main Street.
